Love, Joy, Peace...
Our Beliefs
We invite you to explore our beliefs and join us in our pursuit of living out our faith in boldness and passion.
The Bible
The Bible is the inspired (God-breathed) and only infallible Word of God (II Timothy 3:16)
The Trinity
There is one true God, eternally existent in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit (Matthew 3:16-17).
Jesus Christ
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, who is the image of the invisible God (Colossians 1:15-19). We believe in His virgin birth (Matthew 1:18-25), His sinless life (I John 3:5), and His power to perform miracles (Luke 13:10-17). We believe in His atoning death for our sins, His bodily resurrection from the grave (Luke 24:6-7), and His ascension to the right hand of the Father (Acts 1:9-12).
The Second Coming
We believe in the blessed hope, the imminent return of Christ for overcoming believers (Mark 13:32-37).
Sin
We believe in the fall and sinfulness of man and that the only means of being cleansed from sin is through repentance and faith in the redeeming blood of Christ (Ephesians 1:7).
Holy Spirit
We believe the infilling of the Holy Spirit is given to believers who ask for it (Acts 2:4) and that the Holy Spirit divinely empowers those who believe in Him (Acts 1:8). We believe the Holy Spirit in a person's life is evidenced by changes in their life, including a renewed love for God and people, a commitment to the scriptures and holy living (Galatians 5:22-23). We believe the Spirit-filled believer receives gifts of the Holy Spirit in order to live, love, and serve the Lord and His people effectively (I Corinthians 12:7-11), and that the Holy Spirit sanctifies every believer to live a holy life (Galatians 2:20).
Healing
We believe that divine healing is available through the redemptive work of Christ on the cross (I Peter 2:24).
The Church
We believe the Church of Jesus Christ is the universal, spiritual body of believers (I Corinthians 12:12-27). We believe believers are called to carry out the Great Commission on earth (Matthew 28:19-20) and that Christian growth can only be realized by faith in the promises of God (I Peter 2:2).
Marriage
We believe marriage is God-ordained, as the Creator made them male and female and said, "For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh" (Matthew 19:4-5). We believe marriage is to be an exclusive relationship, a lifelong faithful union between a man and a woman, and that the marriage relationship should parallel the relationship between Christ and the Church (Ephesians 5:23-30).
Ordinances
We believe there are two New Testament ordinances: Water Baptism by immersion after repenting of one's sins and receiving the gift of salvation (Romans 6:4), and Holy Communion (the Lord's Supper) as a symbolic remembrance of Christ's suffering and death for our salvation (I Corinthians 11:17-33).
Eternity
We believe in the resurrection and final judgment of both the saved and the lost, the saved to everlasting life and the lost to everlasting damnation (Revelation 20:12-15). We believe there will be new heavens and a new earth and the Holy Jerusalem, the City of God, descending out of heaven and filled with the glory of God (Revelation 21:1-3).
